He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University and did his orthopedic surgery residency at Yale University where he was a Clinical Instructor of Orthopedics for a year. Prior to his residency he completed a year of research in spine biomechanics at Yale. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago. He joined the staff at the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery where he taught and lectured medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to his clinical duties he has written articles in professional journals and has lectured extensively in the area of sports medicine and orthopedics in this country and abroad. Dr. Federico is a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic joint surgery of the knee, foot/ankle and shoulder. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr Federico is originally from Easton, Pennsylvania.
